A Cavoodle does not need a lot to stay content, but it helps to know what actually makes them happy. Here are three simple ways to keep your Cavoodle happy.
Spend time together
Cavoodles are one of the most loving dogs you can own, and their loyalty and affection run deep. The single best thing you can do for your Cavoodle is simply spend time with them, so make room for plenty of cuddle time.
In a family there is even more for a Cavoodle to love. Younger kids make great playmates and even better cuddle buddies, and your Cavoodle will feed off their energy. If it is just the two of you, that is no problem at all. Let them up on the couch for a snuggle, or head out for a walk. As long as they are by your side, a Cavoodle is happy, so do as much with them as you can and watch their spirits soar.
Take plenty of walks
Cavoodles need a fair bit of exercise, so getting outside keeps them happy as well as healthy. Regular walks are great for their wellbeing, and a trip to a favourite park is a sure way to lift their mood.
If you are tired of the same loop every day, there are plenty of parks and trails around the country worth exploring. New scenery makes every outing an adventure, and a whole new set of smells to sniff is about as exciting as it gets for a dog.
Try a bit of daily training
It is no surprise that Australia's favourite dog is also one of the cleverest, and nothing makes a Cavoodle happier than putting that brain to work. Teaching your Cavoodle new tricks keeps their mind sharp and gives them a real sense of purpose.
If plain old trick training is not your thing, give agility a go. Cavoodles make great agility dogs thanks to their small size, weaving through poles, scrambling over seesaws and darting through tunnels. It exercises body and mind at once, and it is good fun for both of you. Even a trip to the park is a chance to squeeze in some training, and the change of scenery does you both good.
