How the Cavoodle Cost Calculator works

The calculator estimates three things: the upfront cost of getting a Cavoodle, the cost of the first year, and the yearly cost after that. It then adds them up over a typical 14-year life. All figures are in Australian dollars and are rounded estimates, not quotes.

  • Puppy price starts from a typical Australian range of $3,000 to $8,000. It is then adjusted for size (Toys usually cost a little more than Minis), colour (rare colours usually cost more) and your state.
  • Setup gear allows about $350 for a bed, crate, lead, harness and bowls.
  • First-year extras allow about $550 for final puppy vaccinations, council registration and puppy school.
  • Yearly running costs include food ($700), vet check-ups and vaccinations ($400), flea, worm and heartworm prevention ($260), grooming ($90 at home or about $780 with a professional), pet insurance ($720 if you choose it) and toys and incidentals ($300).
