Tired of walking the same streets over and over? Take your Cavoodle somewhere a bit more exciting. Here are some of the best parks around Victoria worth sniffing out.
Rules vary from park to park, so check the signage when you arrive to see whether your dog needs to stay on the lead.
Bunurong Coastal Reserve
Hugging Victoria's shoreline, the Bunurong Coastal Reserve offers kilometres of coast and towering cliffs. It is one of the best parks for a dog, since a hot summer's day is easily cooled with a quick dip. Keep your Cavoodle under control and you will both have a great time.
Albert Park
Albert Park is fantastic for a Cavoodle, especially if you like throwing a frisbee. This 225 hectare park has several off-lead areas where your dog can run around, and it hosts dog events too, like the annual RSPCA Million Paws Walk.
Macedon Regional Park
This park has some fantastic views and hundreds of native plants to enjoy. At 2,379 hectares there is plenty for you and your Cavoodle to explore. Keep your dog on the lead and clean up after them, and Macedon is a beautiful spot for a family of any size.
Yarra Bend Park
Yarra Bend is a picturesque park with lots of greenery and generous off-lead areas, which makes it great for exercising your Cavoodle. If you would rather keep your dog on the lead there are plenty of trails for that too, and the wide open space is a nice change from cramped walking tracks.
Jells Park
Jells Park is more restrictive than others on this list, but still worth a visit. It is strictly on-lead with set walking zones, because the park is home to nearly 150 species of birds. It is a lovely place for a walk and a great stop if you are just after a quick one.
Cape Conran Coastal Park
This park has plenty of both on-lead and off-lead areas, and you can even camp in some parts. With sandy shores and lush woodlands, it makes a wonderful walking spot for your Cavoodle. For the adventurous owner, it is well worth a visit at least once.
