Are Cavoodles Worth the Cost?

You have probably heard Cavoodles do not come cheap. So are they actually worth the price tag?

How much does a Cavoodle cost?

A Cavoodle is a mix of a Poodle and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and as a designer breed they fetch more than a lot of other dogs. Most Cavoodle puppies sell for somewhere between $3,000 and $8,000 depending on the breeder, the size and the colour, with the majority landing around $4,500 to $5,500.

That is a fair chunk of money for a small dog, and plenty of people hesitate at the idea of spending it on a crossbreed. The thing is, Cavoodles earn their keep. They are low maintenance, wonderful company, and they fit into almost any home.

They cost very little to train

Cavoodles are one of the easiest dogs to train. They get their smarts from their Poodle side, and they genuinely enjoy learning, which keeps them sharp and helps them bond with you at the same time.

That trainability opens doors too. Some Cavoodles go on to competition work or assistance roles, because they are loyal and they listen well. Put the time in and your Cavoodle can be a brilliant little offsider.

They cost less to look after

These dogs are cute as a button, so it is no wonder they top the popularity charts. A big part of the appeal is that soft, curly coat, which happens to be low maintenance as well.

Because they are small, their food and grooming costs stay relatively low compared with a big dog. Their low shed coat is a bonus for anyone with allergies, and a regular shampoo and brush is usually all it takes to keep them looking healthy. They are fantastic family dogs

Whether you are on your own in a small flat or juggling a house full of kids, Cavoodles make great pets. They are small enough not to hurt a young child and gentle by nature, and they do not need a lot of space, so apartment life suits them just fine.

So is a Cavoodle worth it?

Absolutely. Cavoodles are sweet, loving dogs and a wonderful addition to a family. The upfront cost is real, but the ongoing cost of owning one is no more than any other dog. Fair warning though, once you have one Cavoodle you will probably want another.

The price of a dog matters far less when what you are really buying is a companion for life.

If you want a dog that brings a heap of joy into your home, the Cavoodle is hard to beat.
