If you are in South Australia and after a new place for a walk, here are some of the best dog parks in the state.
Off-lead rules vary between councils, so check the signage on arrival.
Mawson Lakes
Mawson Lakes is one of the best dog parks in South Australia for walking your Cavoodle, especially if you like wide open spaces and plenty of friendly dogs to play with. It is great for off-lead adventures, with lots of grass for a good roll around, shaded areas and water features. Take your time and enjoy it.
West Torrens
When you picture a dog park, you probably think of a big open field with a few paths and plenty of dogs. That is West Torrens. This large field is ideal for off-lead walks on a sunny day, and there are always other dogs about for a playmate. Shade is a little lacking, but water fountains and bins along the paths make up for it and keep the park clean.
North Adelaide
Take your clever, enthusiastic Cavoodle to North Adelaide dog park, which has some agility equipment for a bit of exercise when it is free. There are plenty of big leafy trees for shade, and it is a genuinely lovely park, so much so that people visit just because it looks so nice. The locals keep it clean, and there is usually someone friendly to chat to.
Port Elliot
Port Elliot lacks the shade of some others, but it is hugely popular with the local community. A path runs right through it and there is plenty of grass for a mob of excited dogs. It is off-lead, so you can let your Cavoodle run, though keep an eye out for larger dogs that want to play, since a small Cavoodle can get overwhelmed quickly.
Blackwood Forest Recreation Park
Lush, green and hilly, Blackwood Forest is beautiful for dogs and people alike. The paths are usually clean, which makes for a lovely walk, and there are often other dogs to make friends with. It is one of the greenest dog spots in South Australia. Good footwear helps, since the ground is uneven in places, though there is flatter ground too if you want something more relaxed.
